  • The blanket

This is a story of a very special blanket.  In the year of 1990 I decided to knit a blanket.  a quick project, huh!  NOT!!!  When the idea came to me it was going to be a blanket for Mike.  As the years went by I worked on it now and then.  When the kids were young I didn't pick it up hardly at all.  Didn't have the time.  When Aaron and April made plans to get married, I decided it would be a nice wedding gift,  Didn't get it finished then.  Then my 25th wedding rolled around, and I thought I could give this someday finished project to Mike for our anniversary.  He always wanted this blanket.  Well again things got busy, and I didn't finish it in time.  Well here it is 2009, and guess what I FINISHED THE BLANKET TODAY!  Bells are ringing, hearts are happy with joy!  My dear husband ask, "Is this going to be for us tonight.  When I said, "Yes" he got a big smile on his face.  He said he could tell people, "My wife made this, and it took 19 years to finish it, and she put a lot of love and time into it.  He said, "I will keep it forever".  What a sweet hubby I have.  I love him so.  Yes, my hunny is the proud owner of a 19 year old project, and I'm glad to finish it.  I knew if I started any other projects this one would not get done.
So now.....................I can start some projects for my new grand baby to be.  As soon as we find out what it is then I can really go to town on my projects.  It's never time to rest when one knits.
Not a very exciting story, but one with lots of meaning to Mike and I.  I have wanted to finish this project for so long, and he has wanted me to finish it so he could have!!
Ta Ta for now.  Hoping some of you will join in for a  feeling of joy from a project completed.............finally!

  • It's a blistery day poo!  Sinus...well there all over the map, but that's ok.  Aaron and April got he clinic on Wednesday to see how the baby is coming along.  We hope to be able to hear the heartbeat.  It's an interesting thing growing older, and watching your children grow older.  Now we have  a youngest child who is having a baby!  As we look around and see our friends and family getting grayer, and the aches and pains of our parents and grandparents now seem to be ours.  Hum!  It helps to see how marvelous God truly is.  As we see our good friend Dan Alley struggle with life, and watch Cherron love and nurture him we see God's marvelous ways as well.  God is good, and He is none other then fair and just.  I am so glad He is in control cause oh my this world would be a mess is I was in control.   He does know what He is doing, and I CAN trust Him.  I'm sure of that.  As you go about your day please remember our friends and family who are suffering much more then I am.  It doesn't take away from our suffering, but it puts it in it's proper place.  Rejoice always!  And again His word says to rejoice.  May today I look to Him for all my strength and walk in a manner according to His calling.
